Dear << Test First Name >>
“Spiritual growth is like childbirth. You dilate, then you contract. You dilate, then you contract again. As painful as it all feels, it’s the necessary rhythm for reaching the ultimate goal of total openness.”
I love the way Marianne encapsulates this, I know that is how I have felt in my life. It is helpful to remind ourselves of this so we don’t become disheartened and give up, feeling we are always struggling and falling back into old patterns. Just reading this and attending Eckhart’s Retreat this weekend has certainly supported me to know that this is our humanness and that our challenges are always an opportunity to grow.
Being in Eckhart’s presence all weekend could allow one (and I did fall into this trap) to compare oneself to him and ask the question, “how the heck do I maintain such nowness?”………
Refrain from comparing, that is how. You bring yourself to the present moment, connect to your body, breathe and let go!
Triggered by my husband
Interestingly when I was at the retreat, I found I was triggered during a conversation with my husband, I could literally feel the rush of frustration and anger in my body, coupled with the “need” to be right! If left there, the energy of this negative emotion would of course add to further unnecessary suffering to both of us, including ill health both mentally and physically. I am therefor so very grateful that I have learnt how to use tapping to release old patterns and negatives states. Applying this technique and other mindfulness practices, I am able to be more present in my life, recognising my old patterns and learning to release them. Not always easy though as sometimes of course I fall down.
Breathe in and hold it………breathe out!
I’m happy to say however, that I get up again and since the retreat my Husband and I are committed to communicating within a different space and reminding each to become more present and connected. From this space our response to challenges has the potential to become more harmonious, and with that, the universe does and will work with you.
It has been a wee while since I have written to you, I do hope you are travelling along well. I would like to share with you this Tap along video below to assist you to release unnecessary thoughts in your head, ease your busy mind that may be even trying to find problems. Often we are trapped within our old stories so we can immediately fall back to a negative way of responding.
Ease the mind and become still
I invite you to take a few minutes (yes, don’t be fooled, you do have the time) to try this Tap along to calm your nervous system and still your mind, it will not only make you feel better but all those around you benefit too. When you’re more at peace within and feel more connected to this moment you are far more likely to find solutions easier, they will even appear and you will recognise them with more frequency, interact with love and probably most importantly, connect to your body away from you head.
EFT Research article
Back in March 2015 I was interviewed, along with other EFT practitioners by Mahima Kalla, at that time a student Doctor of Philosophy at Monash University in Victoria, Australia. Mahima’s research article was based on EFT practitioner interviews. The article reviewing EFT as a practice for supporting chronic disease healthcare has now been published by the journal, Disability and Rehabilitation (Impact 1.9).
Please see the link Here and share where possible.
This is a promising contribution to raise awareness of the importance and effectiveness of EFT, especially with Chronic disease.
Breathe in and hold it……..breathe out!
