The highly effective and scientifically proven stress management tool I use with my clients is: EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Commonly called Tapping.

EFT is a practical body/mind self-help method – a process of mindful and intentional tapping (gently, with fingertips) on acupuncture meridian endpoints on the face and upper body. An EFT intervention utilises the same pathways/channels found in traditional Chinese energy medicine, whilst also capitalising on our ability to think about or “tune-in” to our problem or issue in proactive ways.

EFT is easy to learn and can be used as a self-help tool and at times can be incredibly effective however, there are times when you cannot get beyond the issues alone and this is when it is much more beneficial to have a practitioner guide you safely and gently to the issues that may be the root cause of your current discomfort.

EFT can bring surprising – and lasting – relief, change the energy we bring to any life situation, and so much more. As we explore EFT, we can become more aware of how our thoughts, beliefs and emotions affect us physiologically, physically and spiritually – and we can make changes for the better

Post Tapping Workshop

I slept really well and woke feeling rested, after a run of bad sleep, that was wonderful. Alison is a gentle & skilled compassionate therapist and gave plenty of opportunity for us to practice new skills ourselves. Alison created a really safe emotional environment to help us learn EFT Tapping. I really enjoyed being in this workshop. I now feel confident and able to use this tool for myself and in my work as an integrative GP.

Science behind EFT
We now have research which clearly indicates that EFT can reduce the stress hormone cortisol in the body after one hour of tapping. Brain scans are also showing significantly reduced activation after 4 weeks of EFT. 

These trials are published in peer reviewed journals such as EFT Universe’s website has links to the articles.

EFT has been researched in more than 10 countries, by more than 60 investigators, whose results have been published in more than 20 different peer-reviewed journals.
